The Vision of Legacy Christian Church is to be a church that Reaches People, Builds People and Sends People. This is our vision because this is the pattern and process that we see Jesus and the early Christians following in the pages of Scripture.
REACH - At the beginning of Jesus' Ministry we see Him continually reaching out to people who were hurting, suffering, and searching. Whether it was with the so called "sinners" of His day, the sick and poor, or with little children... we see Jesus relentlessly focus on Reaching People who were lost, hurt, hungry and needing Hope. We see Him initiating relationships with people, and then proclaiming the Good News of The Kingdom of God to them, and finally inviting them to follow Him as disciples.
BUILD - From there, we see Jesus focusing a significant period of time on building strategic relationships with a small group of men and women who had committed to follow Him as Disciples. Over a period of roughly 3 years, He taught them, trained them, encouraged them, and challenged them. And He invited them to partner with Him in His work of seeking and saving the lost.
SEND - And when they were ready, Jesus began to progressively send them out to follow in His footsteps: to preach, to teach, to heal, to encourage and to model the power of God's Redemptive Love. He continued to hand over authority and responsibility to the ones that He had built until after His resurrection when He handed over the reigns of His mission to the 12 apostles and told them: "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you...All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (John 20:21, Matthew 28:18-20)
At Legacy, we worship God and are relentlessly focused on REACHING the next generation of believers, BUILDING up faith grounded in the knowledge and understanding of the Good News of Jesus, and SENDING all to partner with the Holy Spirit in God's great work of redemption and healing in their homes, in our church, in the community, and to the ends of the earth.
We follow this model because this is the example we see Jesus and other early Christians model in scripture.
