Dear Brothers and Sisters:
These are unprecedented times. As Elders and staff, we are faced with making tough and perhaps unpopular decisions. However, it is our responsibility to protect the flock using our best judgement through prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit.
At all times, but particularly now, we encourage each of you to extend grace towards one another. Many people have different opinions on how to handle this crisis. They are not wrong. They are just different. We encourage each person in our congregation to use this as an opportunity to show the love of Christ to one another both inside and outside of the church.
In that spirit, we have made the following decisions regarding Legacy Christian Church activities:
Weekly Worship Service- this week’s worship service (Sunday March 22nd) will be online only. To be clear, there will be no physical service available at Legacy this Sunday. The service will be available through our Facebook page as well as posted online on our website. The online service will be posted at 10:00AM as per our usual service time.
A decision will be made on a week by week basis as to whether we will have online services only or if we will also have a physical gathering. This will be communicated each week through the Legacy Loop.
On-Site Activities- all on-site activities at Legacy will be cancelled through March 31st (with the exception of the Blood Drive to be held on March 19th 1:00PM -6:00PM which is also a critical health need at this time.) We will reevaluate on-site activities after March 31st.
Off-Site Activities- off-site activities including small groups, 4x4 dinners, etc. are discouraged particularly if they include more than 10 people as requested by our government. However, each group will have to make their own decision regarding gathering together for these activities.
We believe it is of primary importance to stay connected. The Elders and staff will be reaching out to as many of our members and regular attenders as possible. If you have a need, please reach out to us as follows:
Pastor Joel- email@example.com (678) 468-5037
Pastor Dan- firstname.lastname@example.org (678) 478-4198
Brian Jagt- email@example.com (770) 776-9044
It is our goal to gather as God’s people as soon as possible. We are working on creative ways to bring this to fruition.
In the meantime, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6,7
In His Service,
Your loving Elders and Staff
